A: There are many different types and styles of fireplaces that burn wood, gas, and pellets. You must first decide what the goal for the fireplace will be, and what type of fuel you would like to use. A fireplace can heat the entire home or just a gathering place for family photos. After the ice storms of 2000 and 2007, most folks goal for the fireplace is to provide a backup source of heat. there are many models in todays market to choose from. i would suggest browsing to receive basic knowledge on what you may want.

Vent-free fireplaces are short term used only (4 hours max), since there is no vent everything that is burned inside the fireplace is burned and sent back into the home. there is also a break in period when the logs are burned for the first time there will be a stronger odor than in future burns.

As long as the stove is mobile home approved with the ability for outside air source connected to the stove for the combustion process.  It is also required to use double walled stovepipe vs. single wall as the connector pipe to the double walled chimney thru wall or ceiling.

Like most things, you can find and buy fireplaces online.  However, most of the top manufacturers do not allow online sales due to warranty, safety and delivery issues.  When you buy online you are most likely giving up warranty and service on your unit.  Our manufactures require us to cover warranty and service issues and even pay us when there is a warranty issue.  

There's a new law in Oklahoma requiring a special Hearth installation Mechanical Contractor's License to install fireplaces and stoves into new or existing homes.  This license requires a Master Hearth Professional status with the NFI and is very good indication of the training and expertise to ensure your safety.
